PDF Files

We usually use PDF (Portable document) files instead of Word, WordPerfect or other format.  These files can be identified as having a .pdf extension at the end of their name.  We use files requiring version 6 or higher.

Some of our PDF files are protected so that you cannot change or modify the file.  To keep them small, most of these files are screen quality, so that they look good on your screen, but may print out with poor resolution. PDF files are generally smaller than word document files and print better on a variety of printers. With the free Adobe® Reader® software, you can view and print Adobe PDF files on most any computer system. The software is FREE and can be downloaded and installed easily.  Most computers have this free program installed. If yours does not, click on the icon:

While legal size works best for newsletters, letter size should suffice.   Letter size is appropriate for most printing. You can determine the original size of a pdf document by checking the File | Properties command while in the pdf reader.
