Harrington Memorial Hospital has announced that it has revised the Prepared Childbirth classes designed for parents who are preparing for parenthood. Three separate courses are available. The six week complete course includes Newborn First Aid and CPR. A four week basic course is also available.

A One-day Fast Trak course is offered on some Saturdays. These courses include information on the process of birth, coping strategies for labor, Cesarean births and Medication options.

The Prepared Childbirth sessions are open to all local residents regardless of where they plan to deliver. According to Elizabeth Jarret RN, Perinatal Educator at Harrington Memorial Hospital, efforts have been made to offer the programs on Saturdays and in the evenings to accommodate the busy schedules of prospective parents.
