About the Program:

As we continue to meet the daily challenges presented by a changing healthcare system, it is important that we also look to the future and the important role we can all play in helping to shape the delivery and quality of health care in Massachusetts.

To help us achieve this goal, we have been selected to participate as a pilot hospital in the We Care! initiative. The purpose of this long-term effort is to improve and strengthen our grassroots capabilities and those of the larger hospital community.

Now, we are asking each of you to become a member in this critical endeavor. Team Captains will be circulating forms shortly for you to sign up as a "Hospital Champion".

To become a "Hospital Champion" we are asking that you simply be willing to write a letter to the editor, call or write your state legislator and otherwise participate in activities focused on the delivery of quality health care throughout Massachusetts.

If you have questions please contact Dawn Sanchez, Marketing and Community Relations at 765-3146, or internally at ext 6146.

Thank you in advance for your attention and participation in this worthwhile effort. I hope that you will be as excited by this energizing new strategy as I am and I look forward to launching the We Care! initiative together.

From the CEO:

As you know, we are excited to announce the selection of Harrington Memorial Hospital as a pilot hospital in the new We Care! initiative. The purpose of this long-term initiative is to ensure that hospitals are an integral part of the changing dynamics in the health policy arena. A major objective of the plan is to establish a firmer foundation for hospitals’ advocacy positions by aligning ourselves more closely with our communities, especially via collaborative relationships with others who share our values and goals.

I am encourage your active support for our hospital to lead the way as we fundamentally change the dynamics of how health care is viewed and supported by our employees, our communities, and businesses.

Sincerely,
Richard Mangion,
President and CEO
