"On Track to Find a Cure"
Harrington HealthCare participated in the 2014 Festival of Giving Trees with the theme "On Track to Find a Cure." The Auxiliary had a train-themed tree to display with the HealthCare System's train full of prizes (above).
The Auxiliary had three ornaments to choose from ($1, $3, and $5) to give in the name of someone that has been touched by cancer. The ornaments were then placed on the tree for all to view.
All donations received for the ornaments were given to the Festival of Giving Trees, which, since inception, has donated more than $400,000 to three cancer agencies, including The Cancer Center at Harrington.
The event took place December 4th through 7th at the LaSalle Reception Center (Notre Dame) on Main Street in Southbridge. Last year over 100 trees were donated and decorated by individuals, school groups, churches, and businesses. At the end of the festival, the trees are raffled off to lucky winners.
