Teaming Up to Rebuild

Basketball legend Satch Sanders and Douglas resident Zachary Urbanowski know how important it is for a community to have access to state-of-the-art emergency medical services at a moment's notice.

That's why they support Strengthening Our Future, the $8.8 million fund-raising campaign to rebuild the Emergency Department at Harrington HealthCare at Hubbard, 340 Thompson Road in Webster.

Our Emergency Department saved Zack's life after he collapsed while playing basketball with his cousins in Webster. The doctors and nurses in the Webster Emergency Department quickly diagnosed Zack, discovered he had a deep brain injury, and stabilized him. Because of their efforts, Zack is on the road to recovery.

As he recovered, Zack got the chance to meet local resident Satch Sanders, member of eight world-championship Boston Celtics teams and the basketball Hall of Fame. The two have bonded over their love of the game. Now Satch has thrown his support behind the Strengthening Our Future campaign.

Thanks to a generous donor who has pledged a $4 MILLION MATCH, your contributions toward the Strengthening our Future campaign are automatically doubled, bringing Harrington that much closer to achieving our goal of securing advanced healthcare for the next generation.

The Emergency Department in Webster receives more than 12,000 patient visits a year, a number that is expected to grow to 15,000 in the near future. But this focal point of healthcare in our community has not had a significant renovation since it was built in 1955. Although it continues to meet the emergency medical needs of the community, it is sorely in need of an overhaul.
