Nephrology Group to Begin at Harrington HealthCare at Hubbard

WEBSTER, Mass. - December 17, 2010 - Physicians from the Pioneer Valley Nephrology (PNV) medical practice are now seeing patients at the Harrington HealthCare at Hubbard campus at 340 Thompson Road.

Balaji Padmanaban Athreya, M.D., F.A.S.N.., George Fares, M.D., M.S.c. and Hemant Magoo, M.D., are available for outpatient appointments to those living in Webster, Dudley, Thompson, Conn. and surrounding communities.

Dr. Athreya has worked for Pioneer Valley since 2000, specializing in Clinical Hypertension. He completed his residency and fellowship at Brookdale University Hospital & Medial Center in New York. He received his medical degree from Thanjavur Medical College in India. Dr. Athreya is board certified in Internal Medicine, as well as in Nephrology and Hypertension.

Dr. Magoo received his medical degree from the University College of Medical Sciences, University of Delhi in India. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Nephrology from New York Medical College Metropolitan Hospital Center Program. Dr. Magoo is board certified in Internal Medicine.

Dr. Fares received his medical degree from Universite Saint Joseph in Beirut, Lebanon. He completed his residency at the University of Connecticut Health Center in Farmington. He completed two fellowships in Nephrology from the University of California San Francisco, as well as Tufts Medical College in Boston. Dr. Fares is also fluent in French, Greek and Lebanese.

Pioneer Valley Nephrology is a dedicated practice, providing state-of-the art evaluation and management for all types of kidney concerns, including dialysis, blood pressure monitoring, hypertension and chronic kidney disease. PNV is based out of Springfield, with several satellite locations, including Harrington Hospital in Southbridge.

The nephrology group in Webster will be located in Suite 101 in the Medical Office Building of the Harrington HealthCare at Hubbard campus.
