Thanks to improvements in prevention, early detection, and treatment, more than a million people in the US count themselves as survivors of colon or rectum cancer (also called colorectal cancer).
Still, colorectal cancer is the third most common cancer diagnosed in both men and women in the United States. If you're over 50, have a family history of colon or rectum cancer, or have certain medical or lifestyle attributes, you are at higher risk for developing Colon Cancer.
For more information about Colon Cancer, please visit the American Cancer Society's webpage.
The Center also provides a Breast Center, a Thoracic Center and Pain Center. It has a variety of advanced treatments and patient care services including nutrition, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and lymphedema program, a Wig Bank, Reiki, a Caring Touch Program (hand message), a Look Good... Feel Better Program, a partnership with Caring Bridge Alliance and a Resource Room filled with cancer-associated reading materials provided by the American Cancer Society.
