Audrey Aho, OTR/L, CLT
Audrey graduated from Quinsigamond Community College in Worcester as a Certified Occupational therapy Assistant (COTA/L) and went on to graduate from Bay Path College in Longmeadow as an Occupational Therapist Registered/Licensed (OTR/L). Audrey has more than 18 years experience as a therapist and has worked in sports medicine, orthopedic (inpatient and outpatient), pediatrics, school systems, geriatrics, spinal cord, neurological diseases, and psychiatric. In January 2010, Audrey graduated from The Academy of Lymphatic Studies in Fort Lauderdale Florida and completed her certification as a Lymphedema therapist (CLT).
Joanne Avery, PTA
Joanne received her AS in the Physical Therapy Assistant program from Becker Junior College and her completed Bachelor’s in Business Management from Becker College. Joanne has more than 30 years experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant in home care, long term care, short term rehabilitation, acute inpatient care and outpatient clinic settings. She has completed 150 observation/volunteer hours with a nurse practitioner in orthopedic physicians’ office and continues to attend continuing education courses each year. Joanne became Level 1 Certified in Barnes Myofascial Release in 2010.
Denise A. Bernard, PT, C.S.C.S.A
Denise graduated of the University of Connecticut with a BS degree in Physical Therapy. Also she received certificate as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) from the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). Since graduation, she has worked in various outpatient hospital settings and private practices in MA and CT specializing in orthopedics and sports medicine. Her treatment philosophy is to utilize different manual therapy techniques and functional based rehab focused to address each individual's needs and goals. Her special interests are all aspects of sports medicine but especially enjoys orthopedics.
Kellie Bennett, PTA
Kellie received her AS from the a Physical Therapist Assistant Program of Lasell College. She has more than 20 years experience working as a PTA. Kellie has worked in acute care, short term and long term rehab and home care in addition to the outpatient setting. Kellie’s clinical interests are in rehabilitation of total shoulder, hip, knee replacement surgery and rehabilitation of the rotator cuff repair and has attended continuing education conferences in these and other topics.
Karen Bussiere, PT, Rehabilitation Supervisor
Karen is the Rehabilitation Supervisor Harrington HealthCare at Hubbard outpatient clinic in Webster. She is a graduate of Springfield College and has a Masters in Physical Therapy. During her more than 18 years as a PT she has worked in the acute care, long term care, short term rehab, and outpatient clinic settings. Karen has presented and developed stroke education/cardiac education groups at Massachusetts Chapter PT conferences. She pursues ongoing continuing education to broaden areas of clinical practice.
Robin is the office manager for Rehabilitation Services in Southbridge. She has been a member of the Rehab department since 2003. Robin is an active adult volunteer for several nonprofits in the Worcester area.
Mary Dona, PT
Mary graduated from Quinnipiac University in 1981 with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy. In her more than 30 years of experience, Mary has worked in the acute care and outpatient settings at Harrington and Worcester hospitals. She has participated in the Runner’s and Sports Medicine Clinics held by the orthopedic department and provided physical therapy services to the employee wellness program. During her more than 17 years at Harrington, she has worked treating both inpatients and outpatients. Her areas of interest and continuing education classes include manual therapy, orthopedics and sports medicine.
Sarah Duggan, PT
Sarah earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2012 from American International College and her Bachelors of Science in Movement Science with a sports medicine concentration from Westfield State College in 2008. She gained clinical experience as student in outpatient therapy, acute rehab, acute care, and skilled nursing settings. Sarah is a full time employee, working mornings in the outpatient clinic and afternoons inpatient in the hospital.
Emily Goncalves, PTA
Emily has an Associate Degree in the Physical Therapist Assistant program from Springfield Technical Community College and received the Lucile B. Hood award for excellence in clinical rehabilitation. Emily has worked at Harrington for more than 2 years working in both acute care and outpatient settings. Emily has attended several continuing education courses the areas of outpatient rehabilitation, sports medicine and inpatient hospital care.
Jilanne Hobson, PTA
Jilanne has a Bachelor of Arts Degree Performing Arts from Oklahoma City University and an AS degree from the PTA program at Becker College. In her more than 15 years as a PTA she has worked in the long-term care, sub-acute, home care settings as well as the outpatient setting.
Nancy Jones, PT
Nancy is a graduate of Sargent College of Allied Health Professionals, Boston University. In her more than 30 years as a Physical Therapist Nancy has worked in acute care, outpatient and pediatrics in schools settings. She has extensive experience in the assessment and treatment of musculoskeletal conditions and has attended numerous continuing education courses pertaining to shoulder, knee and hip rehabilitation. Her manual skills education includes courses in Maitland, Jones strain/counterstrain, muscle energy, craniosacral therapy, myofascial release. She has taken a particular interest in helping develop the ongoing treatment of pelvic floor dysfunction, specializing in the treatment of female incontinence and chronic pelvic pain syndromes. She has also attended courses in Core stabilization. Nancy finds Physical Therapy to be a fun and rewarding career that is as enjoyable today as when she first began.
Chris Lafleche, PT
Chris graduated from the School of Allied Health Professions at the University of Connecticut. She has 30 years experience treating a variety of clients in various settings, including inpatients, outpatients, home health care, and in the local school system while at Harrington. Chris has an interest in pediatrics, women’s health, and treating musculoskeletal conditions using a manual therapy approach. She has attended numerous continuing education courses to develop and advance her manual skills, including the therapeutic techniques of strain counterstrain, muscle energy, myofascial release, and cranialsacral therapy. The majority of her work at Harrington Hospital involves the treatment of musculoskeletal disorders such as back, neck, and knee pain.
Judy Laventure, PT
Judy is a graduate of the University of Connecticut and been employed at Harrington for more than 30 years. She has worked in many areas of PT including pediatrics (school based), inpatient, outpatient and home health. She was instrumental in initiating the current outpatient Aquatic Physical Therapy Program held at the local YMCA. Judy currently works primarily in the outpatient department in both the Southbridge and Charlton campuses and runs the Aquatic program. In addition, she has been the Clinical Coordinator for Clinical Education (C.C.C.E.) for many years, providing student internships for many New England schools.
Brian graduated from Assumption College where he earned a Bachelors in Global Studies. His responsibilities as Audiology Assistant include: instructing patients regarding proper use and care of hearing aids and assistive listening devices; provides technical support for more advanced assistive devices; provides service regarding general maintenance and repairs of hearing aids; and assists the Audiologist during testing sessions for pediatric patients.
Liz is a Health Insurance Authorization Specialist at the Harrington Physical and Occupational Therapy Department. She has been a Harrington employee for the past six years with previous employment in the Dietary Department as a Supervisor. Liz speaks both English and Spanish which helps facilitate the non English speaking patients.
Jennifer J. Martocci, PTA
Jennifer received her AS/Physical Therapist Assistant from Becker College. She has more than 17 years of experience in the areas of acute inpatient, short term rehabilitation, skilled nursing and homecare. For the past six years, she has enjoyed providing outpatient therapy in the clinic. Jennifer attends continuing education courses each year. Her clinical areas of interest include foot and ankle injuries and deep tissue massage.
Eleasha went to school at Salter’s College for accounting. She has worked in the Rehab Department at Harrington Healthcare at Hubbard for more than five years.
Sandy O’Conner, PTA
Sandy worked with mentally and physically challenged residential clients for 10 years, and earned her PTA license in 1983. Her experience includes orthotic and prosthetic training as well as implementing developmental programs. She worked an additional 17 years in short term rehab and long term care where she developed a gift for getting the difficult or mentally challenged patient to participate. Most recently she spent three years working at a neuro rehab center with focus on regaining strength and function with traumatic brain injured. Sandy joined the team at Harrington in August 2010, providing inpatient and outpatient therapy.
Janet Pelletti, PT
Janet graduated from Springfield College in 1993 with a Masters Degree in Physical Therapy. In her more than 18 years as a Physical Therapist, she has worked in inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation for variety of neurological and musculoskeletal conditions from children to geriatrics. She has particular interests in orthopedics, neurology, balance disorders, sports medicine and injury prevention.
Nancy Piscopo, PT
Nancy has a Bachelor of Science degree from the Boston Bouve College of Northeastern University in Boston. In more than 30 years of clinical experience, she has worked primarily in the oupatient and acute care setting, focusing mainly on orthopedic conditions. She also has also worked in the short term rehab and long term care settings. Her clinical interests include post-op orthopedic conditions, as well as functional training and rehabilitation.
Marilyn O. Reynolds, Au.D.
Marilyn obtained her undergraduate degree in Communication Disorders from Ithaca College in New York, and received her graduate degree in Audiology from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst. She was awarded a Doctorate in Audiology from the Arizona School of Health Sciences in 2008. After completing her clinical fellowship year in Caribou, Maine, she continued to live and work in Northern Maine for seven years. She then moved down to Massachusetts and has been the audiologist at Harrington in 1988. The majority of her experience has focused on diagnosing hearing loss and dispensing hearing aids. Marilyn is Board Certified in Audiology, a fellow member of the Academy of Dispensing Audiologists, American Academy of Audiology and the American Speech Language Hearing Association.
Jen Shanahan, PT
Jen earned a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Biology from Stonehill College and a Master of Science degree from Boston University in. In more than 15 years of clinical practice she has worked in several different settings including acute care hospitals, nursing homes, home care and outpatient orthopedic clinics. She assists with custom wheelchair prescriptions at Harrington. Her other interests include orthopedic and post operative rehab and treatment of patients with low back pain due to sacroiliac dysfunction. Her continuing education has focused on manual therapy techniques.
Urszula Sobczak, PTA
Ursula earned an AS degree from the Physical Therapist Assistant program at Becker College. During her more than 13 years as a PTA she has worked in the outpatient rehab clinic, long term care, acute inpatient rehabilitation and back-to-work center settings. She is specialized in office and workplace ergonomics, as well as work hardening programs. Urszula also serves the Harrington community as Polish Language Interpreter.
Sue St. Martin, PTA
Sue holds a Bachelor or Science in Sociology from North Adams State College. She earned her Associates Degree in Physical Therapy from Springfield Technical Community College. She has worked at Harrington more than 13 years, primarily in the outpatient department, treating a wide variety of orthopedic and neurological diagnoses. Sue regularly participates in continuing education relating to all aspects of orthopedic rehab, including myofascial techniques.
Meredith Sheehan, PT
Meredith is a graduate of Simmons College where she earned a Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree. As a student, she gained full-time clinical experience in varied settings including: outpatient physical therapy pediatrics, long term acute care and early intervention. She has been a member of the American Physical Therapy Association since 2007. Meredith enjoys working in both the inpatient and outpatient settings at Harrington.
Joyce Szeredy, PT
Joyce is a graduate of the University of Connecticut. During her almost 50 years as a physical Therapist she has worked in several settings including general hospitals, acute and sub-acute in-patient rehab centers, as well as, long term facilities. She is a per diem physical therapist at the Harrington Rehab Clinic in Webster.
Lurena Thomas, COTA/L
Lurena is a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, having graduated from Quinsigamond Community College. During her more than 15 years of working as a COTA Lurena has worked in many settings including home care, outpatient, inpatient and psychiatric. Lurena’s primary focus is inpatient medical units as well as the psychiatric unit, where individual and group treatment is provided.
Audrey Weston, OTR/L
Audrey is a graduate of the University of New Hampshire and has worked as an OT for more than 30 years. Audrey has worked in Early Intervention, school systems, home care, inpatient medical/surgical and psychiatric, outpatient mental health day program, long term care and home care. Audrey became the Director of OT in 1982 and supervised all OT at HMH and has provided clinical supervision of over 100 students from various New England colleges. Audrey’s primary area of patient care is evaluation and treatment of upper extremity disorders and surgeries.
Cynthia Whalen, COTA/L
Cynthia is a graduate of Quinsigamond Community College, Occupational Therapy Assistant Program. She also attended Worcester State College. Cynthia has more than 30 years experience working as a COTA/L at Harrington. Areas of experience include: pediatrics/school systems; nursing home; medical/surgical inpatients; outpatient clinic; and mental health inpatient unit. Cynthia has also supervised numerous Occupational Therapy Assistant students.
Kathleen Williamson MS, CCC/SLP
Kathleen is a graduate of Worcester State College and the University of Rhode Island where she earned a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees in Communication Disorders. Kathleen is experienced in the diagnosis and treatment of childhood, adult and geriatric speech and language disorders, adult/geriatric swallowing impairment, and cognitive-communication disorders. She has received specialized training in Deep Pharyngeal Neuromuscular Stimulation for Swallowing VitalStim Therapy, Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation for Swallowing, Lee Silverman Voice Therapy (LSVT), and Lingraphica, electronic communication device. Kathleen is the Director of Speech Language Pathology at HMH.
Pat is a secretary for the Rehabilitation Department at the Webster campus. She has been secretary for 11 years. Prior to her joining the Rehab Department, she worked in Materials Management for the Webster outpatient site.
Karen Woodward, OTR/L
Karen graduated from Worcester State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy. She was drawn to Harrington’s distinctive character and gained employment soon out of school. During her more than 10 years at Harrington, she has worked inpatient care on both the medical and psychiatric floors. On occasion she is called upon to perform pre-op education. Karen has worked in the home care and short term sub-acute settings as well.
