Pricing Transparency

Harrington Memorial Hospital is committed to sharing information that will help people make important decisions about their health care. For this reason Harrington Memorial Hospital has posted the twenty most common procedures and their average prices on this website.
Sharing pricing information is challenging because hospital care is unique. The fees which a patient pays can vary quite a bit based on patient needs and the services he or she must use. Prices also reflect the added costs of hospitals' public service role - like fire houses and police stations - serving the essential health care needs of a community 24 hours a day, seven days a week as well as the free and reduced cost care which not-for-profit hospitals must provide. Despite the difficulty in presenting prices, people deserve meaningful information about the price of their hospital care and we will do our best to present it.

Pricing Averages In this PDF file you will find average charges for the twenty most common procedures at HMH. The Data comes from 2005 and will be updated annually.

Pricing information in advance of services rendered is challenging because hospital care is unique. The fees which a patient pays can vary quite a bit based on patient needs and the services he or she must use.

Your best source for estimating costs will be your physician since all procedures and tests must be ordered by a physician. Your physician will know best what services can be done in his or her office and what resources are likely to be needed in the hospital such as, lab and radiology tests, length of time spent in an operating room, and amount of time spent in the hospital. Your physician will know if your procedure is relatively simple or if some factors will make the procedure more difficult or risky for you than is usual.

If you have insurance you can also contact your insurance company for information on whether or not co-payments are required or if the procedure contemplated is fully covered.
