3 Simple Steps to Building a Natural Medicine Cabinet

With flu season upon us, building a natural medicine cabinet is a great option for those wanting to avoid prescriptions or prevent potential illnesses. A natural medicine cabinet can help your family during this season starting with just a few simple all natural remedies.

Essential Oils:

Essential oils are natural liquids and aromatic compounds found in all types of plants. They support the immune system and promote a healthy body. Essential oils are very potent and when touched are immediately absorbed into the skin. Each oil or oil blend offer different benefits when placed on different parts of your body (or some can be ingested), but they all only require a drop or two to receive the effects of the oil.

Herbs:

Herbs have been used by holistic healers for centuries. They are full of many different vitamins and minerals that nourish the body and help heal it. When it comes to choosing herbs for healing purposes, organic herbs are always the ones to choose. Herbs that are not organic can introduce synthetic pesticides into the body.

Real Food:

There are certain foods that you should always have on hand during cold and flu season. Apple cider Vinegar, garlic, ginger, peppermint and other nourishing things are ultimate staples for your all-natural medicine cabinet because they each have unique benefits for our bodies.

These three elements are a nice starting point for building your own natural medicine cabinet.  Start with just one or two oils and herbs and get well educated on them and their uses before moving on to more complex herb or oil combinations. Finally, focus more on your daily diet and everything that is going into or on your body to ensure the herbs and oils can work to their full effect.
