SOUTHBRIDGE, Mass. – March 16, 2016 – Harrington HealthCare System has promoted Michelle Anderson to manager of physician recruitment and has announced Victoria Bates as physician liaison/recruiter.
Anderson, who is originally from Brooklyn, Conn., attended Woodstock Academy in Woodstock, CT where she graduated in 2005 in the top two percent of her class. She entered the Navy ROTC program at the University of Michigan. Upon her return to New England in 2008, Anderson began working at Harrington HealthCare System as a medical secretary in the diagnostic imaging department. She advanced to executive assistant to Harrington President and CEO Ed Moore in 2012.
Anderson has taken numerous leadership, management and business seminars over the past several years. In her new role, she will support physician development, recruitment and on boarding functions for Harrington HealthCare System and its affiliated Harrington Physician Services. Her responsibilities include sourcing and screening physician candidates, checking candidate references, managing recruitment events and physician interviews and supporting physician relocation activities.
Bates, who grew up in Putnam, CT, most recently worked at Day Kimball Hospital, where she spent the 34 years serving in various capacities, including recruitment, development and physician liaison. She has experience in online databases, recruitment agencies and residency programs, among other practices and programs. She also spent time as philanthropy, corporate communications and events manager. She will assist Anderson in physician retention and engagement efforts.
Anderson is a graduate of Charter Oak State College in New Britain, Conn. She enjoys teaching ballroom and Latin dance, and playing volleyball. She is also an active member of her church in Pomfret, Conn., and a certified event planner. She lives in Stafford Springs, CT with her husband, Josiah.
Bates is a graduate of Quinebaug Valley Community College in Danielson, Conn. She lives in Brooklyn, CT with her husband, Marc. Together they have five children and 12 grandchildren. She enjoys spending time with family and friends and taking vacations on Cape Cod.
