SOUTHBRIDGE, MA, April 15, 2020 – Harrington HealthCare System is now offering telehealth appointments for select services during the COVID-19 public health emergency. Telehealth appointments allow patients to meet with a doctor from home via videoconference or telephone, helping them to maintain social distancing and minimize the risk of infection with COVID-19.
Both existing and new patients can request a Telehealth appointment for the following Harrington HealthCare services: Pediatric and Family Medicine; Internal Medicine; Behavioral Health; Cancer Care Genetic Counseling; and all Harrington Physician Specialty services including, Cardiology, Endocrinology, Pain Rehabilitation & Medicine, and so much more.
Those interested in making a Telehealth appointment for any of the above services should simply call the office to make an appointment as they normally would. Contact information for participating services, as well as additional information about how the Telehealth service works, can be found on the Harrington HealthCare website at harringtonhospital.org/telehealth.
This new service was made possible in part by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, according to Harrington HealthCare President and CEO Ed Moore.
“Three weeks ago we did not have the capabilities to interact with our patients via teleconferencing. Thanks to support and funding provided by the state, we’ve been able to launch this valuable new service in just a matter of weeks” Moore said. “The COVID-19 pandemic has forced us to adapt at lightning speed. I’m thankful to DPH and to our team here at Harrington for their contributions in quickly implementing advanced technology and solutions to ensure continuity of care for our patients.”
