Public Announcement Concerning a Proposed Health Care Project

 SOUTHBRIDGE, MA – Harrington Hospital, Inc. an affiliate of Harrington HealthCare System, (the “Applicant”), with an address of 100 South Street, Southbridge Ma, 01550, intends to file an application for a Determination of Need (“Application”) with the Massachusetts Department of Public Health for the acquisition of a second CT Scanner to be located within the Emergency Care Center at its Southbridge facility, located at 100 South Street, Southbridge, Ma, 01550.

The proposed CT scanner will provide access to emergency diagnostic services and more efficient access for emergency patients. The Project consists of an acquisition of a 64-slice CT scanner and associated renovation to accommodate the equipment, staff and patients. The total value of the proposed project is $643,505.

The Applicant does not anticipate any price impacts on its existing patient panel as a result of this addition. Any ten Taxpayers of Massachusetts may register in connection with the intended application no later than 30 days of the filing of the Notice of Determination of Need by contacting the Department of Public Health, Determination of Need Program, 250 Washington Street, 6th Floor, Boston, MA 02108.
