UMass Memorial Health – Harrington Appoints Two New Board Members

SOUTHBRIDGE, MA, April 8, 2022 – UMass Memorial Health – Harrington, at its Community Hospital Board Meeting in March, elected Gina Plata–Nino and Sarai Rivera to the Board of Directors.

Gina Plata-Nino is a local attorney at the Central West Justice Center in Worcester, working on both the state and federal levels on policy matters affecting low-income families, elders and persons with disabilities. Plato-Nino is the Co-founder and President of the Oon-Jai Foundation, a non-profit organization that seeks to alleviate poverty in Southeast Asia by promoting practical, sustainable, healthy living.

Also elected to the board is Worcester City Councilor Sarai Rivera, MSW. She is serving a sixth two-year term as District Four Councilor working professionally within the Worcester community in the field of human services and mental health. Her extensive experience in the areas of community mental health and interventions for multicultural populations in urban settings has allowed her to dedicate her life’s work to issues of social justice.
