Internal Medicine

The internal medicine practice at Harrington is deep and far-reaching, with board-certified physicians, known as internists, seeing adult patients on our main campus as well as offices in Southbridge, Spencer, Webster, Sturbridge, and Brimfield.

In most cases, we serve as patients’ primary care physicians, and we take pride in caring for our patients through senior years. We see patients in our offices, in the hospital, even in nursing homes, coordinating care with other healthcare professionals as needed.

Over the years, we become very familiar with our patients as we care for them as a whole person, focusing on prevention, diagnosis, chronic care management (e.g., asthma, diabetes, and heart conditions), and related medical treatment.

We care for any adult illness, no matter how common or how unusual, and we promote wellness in areas such as substance abuse and weight management, often working with Harrington’s Behavioral Health and Nutrition Departments, as needed. Many internists also specialize in areas such as cardiology, pulmonology, and geriatrics. Because we are experts in diagnosing complicated health matters, we are often called upon as consultants to other physicians.
