SOUTHBRIDGE, Mass. – April 4, 2011 – Harrington Hospital, part of the Harrington HealthCare System, has announced its commitment to help build a home in Sturbridge for a family in need this summer, thanks to a partnership with Habitat for Humanity.
Harrington Hospital is a Copper Hammer Sponsor of the build, offering not only a financial donation, but a group of volunteers who will help construct the home, located off Route 131 in Sturbridge.

need. Giving back to the community, whether it is through providing medical services or helping to build a home, is part of our mission of TLC – Total Local Care, said Ed Moore, President and CEO of Harrington.
Moore will join several Habitat Committee Chairs, town representatives and local legislature at the groundbreaking, held Saturday, April 9 at 9:30 a.m. The groundbreaking will take place on the site of the build at 79 Fairview Park Road in Sturbridge.
The Habitat Tri-Community Build Project in Sturbridge is the product of a partnership between the Town of Sturbridge, the Sturbridge Housing Partnership and Habitat for Humanity – MetroWest/Greater Worcester (HFH-MW/GW). The Sturbridge Housing Partnership purchased the land using Community Preservation funds specifically to increase the affordable housing inventory in town.
The project is a 1,200 square foot, single family home designed as a raised-ranch with three bedrooms and one and one half bathrooms. The structure will be detailed and landscaped in a manner compatible with neighboring homes.
Those interested in attending the groundbreaking are asked to park in the old Roms lot at Route 131 and Fairview Park Road. The Town of Sturbridge has graciously provided a bus for shuttling attendees to and from the property.
