SOUTHBRIDGE, Mass. – April 9, 2010 – Are you an artist looking for a unique, high-visibility venue for your works of wall art? Harrington Hospital is seeking creative expressions from local artists to brighten the hospitals walls.
Harrington is planning a new exhibit of paintings and photographs from artists who live or work in the communities in south central Massachusetts and northeastern Connecticut that comprise the Harrington service area. The exhibit will run from June 1 through September 1, 2010. Deadline for submissions to Harrington is Wednesday, May 5, 2010. Harrington holds three-month art exhibits four times each year.
The art, which will be selected by Harrington Hospital from submitted work, will be prominently displayed in corridors and common areas at the facility, which is located at 100 South Street in Southbridge. The work also will be for sale, with the price set by the artist. Eight-five percent of the purchase price will go to the artist; 15 percent will be donated to the Harrington Hospital Auxiliary to fund grants and scholarships.
Harrington Hospital affords a prominent platform for local artists, as the hospital sees approximately 70,000 visitors each year, including patients, families, staff, students and business leaders. Artists interested in submitting work should contact Laura Dilts, director of volunteers, at 508-765-9771 ext. 6471 or via e-mail at art@harringtonhospital.org.
