SOUTHBRIDGE, Mass., Aug. 4, 2011 — The Physical Therapy (PT) and Occupational Therapy (OT) Clinics on our Southbridge campus have received the “Outcomes Excellence Award” from Focus on Therapeutic Outcomes, Inc. (FOTO).
The honor recognizes Harrington for exceeding expectations for four consecutive quarters ending with the third quarter of 2010, the latest period for which data is available.
Judith Carr, Director of Rehabilitation Services at Harrington HealthCare System, explained that FOTO is a contractor that analyzes outcomes of patient visits to hospital-based as well as private practice PT and OT clinics. Patients complete surveys before and after they are treated – and are asked functional questions.
FOTO enters all the information into a database – and compares it with data from hospitals and private-practice clinics across the United States to measure results. The company provides outcomes measures and aggregate data management services to enable clients to set benchmarks and compare data with other healthcare providers.
