SPENCER, Mass., January 4, 2013 — Harrington HealthCare System will open a physician office and a laboratory service center at 118 West Main Street in February.
Leonard Waice, D.O., a board-certified Family Medicine physician, will serve Spencer and the surrounding communities from the office, which is on the second floor of the Webster First Credit Union at 118 West Main, on Route 9, across from Klems Department Store. Dr. Waice will care for patients of all ages, from newborns to seniors.

Dr. Waice is temporarily seeing patients at a Harrington Physician Services office at 128 Main Street, Suite 4, in Sturbridge.

Moore. “There is a need for Primary Care in the Spencer area, and Harrington is happy to be able to fill that need with an experienced and popular Family Medicine physician.”
Harringtons entry into Spencer marks an expansion of the healthcare systems service area, which extends south of Spencer through Southern Worcester County and into northern Connecticut.
Dr. Waice comes to Harrington from the Wachusett Family Practice in Holden. He received his medical degree from the New England College of Osteopathic Medicine in Biddeford, Maine. He did his residency at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center Family Practice at the Regional Family Health Center in Barre. Dr. Waice did his internship at Lansing General Hospital in Lansing, Michigan.
