MHA Names Harrington President & CEO Edward H. Moore to its Board of Trustees

The Massachusetts Hospital Association (MHA) has named Edward H. Moore, the President and CEO of Harrington HealthCare System, to its Board of Trustees.

Moore, who became President and CEO of Harrington Hospital Aug. 1, 2007, will serve a three-year term, ending in June 2014. Under his leadership, Harrington has opened a free-standing Cancer Center, built a major medical office building in Charlton, Harrington HealthCare at Charlton, launched Harrington HealthCare at Hubbard on the site of the former Hubbard Hospital in Webster, and grown the employed physician base from a handful of doctors to approximately 50. To accommodate the size and complexity of the expanded Harrington Hospital, Harringtons Board of Directors voted two years ago to incorporate the entire operation as Harrington HealthCare System.

“I am truly honored to be chosen to sit on the Massachusetts Hospital Association Board,” Moore said. “MHA has been a strong advocate for hospitals in this state, and is leading the way in promoting public health state-wide while helping member hospitals navigate all the changes in our healthcare system.”

The Massachusetts Hospital Association (MHA) is a voluntary, not-for-profit organization comprised of hospitals and health systems, related organizations, and other members with a common interest in promoting the good health of the people of the Commonwealth. Through leadership in public advocacy, education, and information, MHA represents and advocates for the collective interests of its members and supports their efforts to provide high quality, cost effective and accessible care. The Board of Trustees is the chief governing body of MHA.
