Four Emergency Medicine Physicians Join Harrington HealthCare

SOUTHBRIDGE, Mass. – August 4, 2011 – Harrington HealthCare System welcomes four new staff physicians trained in Emergency Medicine. All four doctors completed their residencies in Emergency Medicine at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center (UMass Medical) in Worcester, training under Harringtons Chief of Emergency Medicine, Dr. James J. Sullivan, Jr.

Dr. Sullivan is currently deployed as an Emergency Medicine doctor with the U.S. Military in Afghanistan as a member of the Active Navy Reserve. He is scheduled to return to the Harrington staff later this year.

“I am very pleased that we are hiring physicians who were trained and recruited by Dr. Sullivan, including two who served as Chief Resident,” said Edward H. Moore, Harringtons President and CEO. “Their addition to the staff will significantly augment our emergency medicine services in Southbridge and Webster.”

The new staff physicians are:

• Dr. Andrew Marino, who served as Chief Resident at UMass Medical and received his medical degree from the SUNY Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences;

• Dr. Michael J. Gray, who also served as Chief Resident at UMass Medical and received his medical degree from Boston University;

• Dr. Giza M. High, who received her medical degree from Virginia Commonwealth University / Medical College of Virginia; and,

• Dr. John J. Flanagan, who received his medical degree from UMass Medical.
