Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women in the United States, other than skin cancer. Yet thanks to advances in research and medicine, millions of women are surviving the disease.
The Cancer Center at Harrington is doing its part to provide our patients with excellent clinical care by helping them understand their treatment options and offering mental, emotional and social support.
We have a comprehensive Breast Center with dedicated patient navigator so you have someone on your side, following each appointment and test result — from initial diagnosis to recovery.
One of the most important things a woman or man can do to prevent breast cancer is to schedule their annual mammogram. We offer 3D digital mammography at our Southbridge campus and advanced 2D digital mammography in Webster and Charlton.
Our technicians are skilled in keeping our patients comfortable and lower any anxiety they may have going into the procedure. Many women find it less difficult than they expected.
We also offer a variety of diagnostic testing, including breast biopsies. Unlike other healthcare facilities, we have stand-up imaging machines to perform the procedure. This is less intrusive for the patient and creates a more calming environment.
Our Cancer Center staff creates a tailored care plan just for you. From nutrition guidelines to advanced wound care following your treatment, we offer clinical specialists every step of the way.
We do more than just treat your cancer — we treat your mental, emotional and psychosocial state. The Cancer Center at Harrington offers a number of support services for our patients.
