Radiation therapy offers the latest technology to fight cancer, including Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT) and Image-Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT).
Intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) utilizes a highly precise radiation system to deliver carefully calculated beams of intense radiation directly into a cancer. Successful IMRT depends both on specialized equipment and on a highly trained team of physicians, physicists, and technologists.
IMRT provides far greater beam-shaping capabilities than 3D radiation therapy, thereby permitting far more sophisticated treatment. IGRT uses the image of the target to guide the delivery of radiation for each and every treatment.
